I received the camera a few days before the lenses and the only think I didn't know was that these lenses attach to the outside of the camera (the lens on the HF10 is protected and automatically covered when powered down) so you will probably remove the lense(s) when not actually in use (I originally thought I would just leave the one lens on all of the time). I bought these for a Canon Vixia HF10. The filters come as stated - the 2 filters in a small case. They thread on the camera just fine and perform well.
You have to have this to protect the lens. This product is a must have for your Canon Vixia HF 11. This is the perfect protection for your lens, from dust to dirt to fingerprints.
Firstly there are few times a ND filter would be necessary even on a beach as most camcorders have 1/2000 second shutter speeds and the other filter just protects the camera lens from dirt but puts more glass in the system. I thought it was a polaroid filter which, for the same price you get from Sony. Better off to buy a off brand Polaroid filter which gives really good control of glare. This item consists of a neutral density filter and a clear filter. I sent it back un opened.
I think they are worth the investment for the protection offered to my camcorder's lens. What else is there to say. I have also been able to shoot some interesting footage using the neutral density filter. The filters work great with my camera. They appear to be of a high quality for the price.
It also allowed for reasonable pictures and video from within some of the peripheral sites, allowing views from inside the burial structures to the outside. Aside from providing basic lense protection, the ND filter part of this pair gives needed control for better contrast in bright sunlight. In a recent trip to the pyramids, with a glaring sun, the ability to get decent pictures, without a burned out sky, would have been impossible without the ND filter.
